Tantallion Gardens, Coney Island Museum,

By combining the freaks, rides, and general spectacles of Coney
Island, Tantallion Gardens mimics the sampler culture
of the amusement park. The allegories represented in the painting--
Ambition, Artifice, Courage, Death, Futility, Growth, Power,
Risk, and Romance --draw a parallel between the assortment of
emotions evoked by the amusement park and the emotional states
we undergo in life.
